setting up usbuirt with 2 zones

using Hauppuage 2250 & 2 DCt700's

I had the setup working before with only one tuner going thru a stb & the other direct analog. Now I am trying to get both tuners going thru the stbs
I purchased An ir bug with a mono plug & plugged it in the back hole. I also tried it plugged in thru a stereo splitter plug. I cant get the second stb tuning correctly. The only one working is the one broadcasting with the ir radio waves thru air at stb (zone 3) I set up the various zones as suggested giving the one thru air broadcast z 3 & the other one i tried as both z1 & z2. Neither combo worked. What am i doing wrong? Is my usbuirt defective or am i using wrong ir big for the back end? Please Help!

i have done all that. only have one stb working via the usbuirt built in radio broadcast. I cant get the second box to work. I think I have a defective Usbuirt. What do I need to do to replace it?

Your description kinda sounds like you have the wrong type of splitter and/or IR blasters. The splitter should be one stereo 1/8 --> two mono 1/8. And the blasters should be mono 1/8.

Just went through the same exercise and all working perfectly on my end.
Used this splitter and 2x emitter - C$25 delivered was best I could do for the emitters - no local sources.
