Unhappy Harmony 650 only sorta working ... help! :)

I've check out the threads, but I haven't yet found this particular problem. I've set up my new Harmony 650 for use with our SageTV 7 PC.

According to some other stuff I found online, I have it set up to talk to Sage through an IR-receiver that I ordered along with a Microsoft remote. Also, according to some other stuff I found online, I have the remote set to read the PC as an ORTek Media Center PC.

The remote will "talk" to the PC now, up-down-right-left, etc work fine. But the actual media-based commands (play, pause, stop, FF, RW, skipFWD, skipBK, etc) don't work.

When I tried Logitech support, they said that since my old remote was the RF-based Firefly, that they'd need the "hex codes" from Snapstream for my Harmony to learn the commands. Snapstream support didn't know what I meant by hex codes and (not very helpfully) pointed out that the Firefly is RF-based and the Harmony is IR-based. Thanks for nothing.

Does anyone have their Harmony 650 working with Sage7? How?

Thanks!

Instead of using "ORTek Media Center PC" try "HP Media Center PC" for the remote codes -- I've read elsewhere that that works pretty well -- though how well "media center" remote codes work are often dependent on the IR receiver as well.

Now the remote doesn't seem to be sending a signal at all. There's no response.

When setting up the new device (HP Media Center PC), I used the default model number they suggested, but I didn't know what PC-input to select on the next screen.

So, that didn't work, at least the way I tried it.

I guess I should add that the IR-receiver I'm using is the one that came with the Ortek VRC-1100. When I use the remote that came with the IR-receiver, Sage responds erratically (Pause opens Windows Media Player, either FFWD or skipFWD minimizes the Sage window, etc). SO....I can't even use that remote to "teach" the Harmony remote the correct commands.
