I have that exact IR module in my PC and it work perfectly with my MCE R6 remote. the inteset remote included is sorta cheesy and while it works, I ended up throwing it in the trash. I'm in the process of trying to figure out where to mount the IR receiver module inside the PC to eliminate the external USB dongle module.

The hd-plex module is supposed to be a nice unit as well but I opted for the inteset part as it has a smaller footprint for mounting inside the case. The blingy red LED is sorta fun but probably won't be visible when its finally mounted unless I do something creative.
