Folder.jpg

Why do I get folder.jpg files created in my movie import directory every time I import new files? Instead of putting fanart into the central folder, I'm getting a single folder.jpg for all 'new' imports, which means only one of the new files has the right poster...

I'd guess that you have another metadata/fanart process running... Ortus? SMM? and they are taking ownership. To my knowledge, bmt doesn't create folder.jpg files. All BMT fanart gets stored in the central folder, and if you turn of central fanart, then bmt will use local fanart (which basically means it will download a jpg poster per movie) and those files named the same as the movie file, not folder.jpg.

This was happening again (still?). I just went through the following steps, seemingly confirming that the folder.jpg files are being created/saved by BMT.

Open BMT web UI.
Open explorer to relevant directory.
Delete existing folder.jpg
Browse view in BMT
Choose file with no fanart
Update metadata (had imdb info, sparse. selected tmdb, much more metadata).
Save metadata.

As soon as I click "save", as I watch the directory open in my other monitor, I see folder.jpg being saved.

I did some more looking around and discovered that, in BMT for some reason, fanart has been disabled. So I re-enabled it, making sure the fanart directory was accessible, and now fanart is being saved there again.

Yeah, if fanart is disabled, and you attempt to use the fanart saving apis, then it will save the fanart as "local" fanart, which means it will create the folder.jpg... I should have asked if you had fanart disabled
