There must be something I don't understand about decoder merit. I exited Sage client, then used DSFMgr to decrease the merit on the Arcsoft decoder down into the Do Not Use range. Then, I went back into Sage, and set the decoder for H264 to Default. Then, I try to play a .ts file in Sage, which fails. Finally, I go back to detailed settings, and see that the H264 decoder is set back to Arcsoft. What am I doing wrong? Shouldn't Sage avoid using Arcsoft now that the merit is decreased?

I've always rebooted after using DSFMgr. However as I was saying before I have not been able to get sage to play a h264 .TS file. A .TS MPeg2 works fine but not h264.

But trust me, if you can't get the file to play in Windows Media Player you are wasting your time with SageTV. As SageTV and WMP both use DShow as the player (if the parameter is set in Sage). If the file plays in MPC it should play outside it using the external filters. Same applies to GraphEdit if it plays in GraphEdit it should play in WMP.
