HD300 and V6.6
Hello,
I recently purchased a HD300 on ebay (I am short one arm and one leg now) and am going to try to connect to my server running V6.6. From what I can tell on this forum, most seem to use V7 with the HD300. Are they any known issues, short-comings with the HD300 and V6.6? Any recommendation on which firmware to run? If I have to, I will update to V7, but everything is running so reliably I would hate to mess with it. Thanks. |

It will work fine with v6. I would upgrade to the latest firmware if it is not already. (Since it is coming from eBay it may already be flashed with the latest.)

Thanks - by latest, do you mean the latest beta firmware?

Yes. The latest beta is usually out there to solve some issue or add feaures. I think most of the updates were fixes.

I'm still running my HD300s on Sage 6.6 with the last full release firmware. I've looked at the betas and reports of issues with some beta versions. I recommend you start with the latest full release. If you encounter problems then experiment with the various betas. There are posts on this board about audio issues with the latest beta. It appears you choose beta version based on the issues that matter to you.
I still prefer Sage 6.6 with SageMC interface vs Sage 7 with or without Phoenix because the ease of use and features are better at this stage. I have not spent much time with Phoenix beta but it has not gone smoothly and features I'm used to in MC are not there yet. |
