SageDCT and Ceton CC tuner issue
Hello,
I just got my Cable Card working with SageTV and SageDCT but was having some issues. The first one is that on my list of channels there are a lot, more than 25, channels enabled that just say "OK". Why is that and how can I get rid of them? Another issue happened while I was going through my channel list seeing what I could preview, SageTV started getting very slow. I was using my HD300 at the time. I switched over to the server itself and all was normal. So, I was able to finish checking out all the channels I could get to finish the lineup. What would be causing this slowdown on the extender? I rebooted the extender once before I went to the main server and that didn't help. Another issue is how to I remove old tuners from the list of available tuners? I'm not using a few analog tuners now but they still show on the list as being available. The last question I have is how would I go about setting up an HDHomerun to tune some clear QAM channels that I also get with the cable card. I currently have just the cable card tuner setup but wanted to add the HDHomerun clear QAM tuners back in. The reason I ask is when I was setting up my cable card tuner, the channels that used to be setup for the HDHomerun would not tune. I noticed that they were using the clear QAM style logical channel number. I changed that to the right number for the cable card tuner and it then tuned correctly. How would I get both to co-exist together so that if the cable card tuner is overloaded then the clear QAM could take over? Sorry for all the questions but I just found these things out. I'm going to bed for the night but I will be trying to get it all sorted out tomorrow. Thanks, Chuck

For the last one I would pick a neighboring zip code that has the same cable lineup as your primary tuner. (Ceton) This way it is a separate lineup so the channels can be in the clear QAM format. Sage will only present this channel once in your lineup so you probably want to set a tuner priority to prefer a particular tuner. So you would set the Ceton priority higher and use the HDHomerun as a backup if all tuners are in use. Or only enable the channels in the HDHomerun lineup that you want it to record.

Thanks for that info. I will probably try that out later when I have time. That isn't a big issue right now but when College Football starts, I would like to have the HDHomerun take some of the load off of the CC tuner so I can record more games in HD. I'm not sure what the second issue was, which was the biggest thing listed on my list, but this morning I checked a different HD300 and all was well. I went into the one that was giving me a problem and it was still an issue. I then did a hard power cycle, I was just turning it on and off last night with the remote, and that seemed to fix whatever was wrong. Thanks alot for the info and hopefully someone else can help on the other two topics. Thanks, Chuck
