Convert Failed?

Have HD (Colossus capture) content that I wanted to convert (to mpeg4 HD and not HD). After selecting 'Convert Recording' - the 'conversion in progress' message box comes up - after 2 seconds Status goes to Failed! System Messages are empty. Any way to find out why it failed?

SageTv: 1.7.9.256
O/S: Win7 Ult SP1
CPU: Q9550

(Hoping for the continuation of SageTV - was BTV user but no Colossus support)

Andre

I had the same thing happen when my Conversions folder was deleted from my system. Likely not your problem, but it's worth taking a look.

What formats are you converting between? HD to SD doesn't mean anything. Is it 100i to 480i? If so, the converter has a problem converting from 1080i and you may need to convert from 1080i to 720p first and then from 720p to 480i.

I have the occasional show that fails to convert to AVI. If I first convert to an intermediate format, such as DVD, it will then successfully convert to AVI.

Convert Failed ...

Thanks all. The source is 1080i - will try down-verting before converting. Will let you know how it goes.
