I am still confused on the Ripped DVDs situation
OK I have a ripped DVD on my harddrive
that includes a .d2v file a .idx file a .lst file a .ifo file a .txt file and the 20 .vobs files of the movie so I want this to play in Sage how what I need to do? I tried making a new folder VIDEO_TS and putting all these files in it but Sage gives me an error(I tried several decoders) the only way I can think it get Sage to play ripped DVD wa to rip the DVD as one long big file and add .vob to the extensions that Sage will play Sage would play the individual .vobs but it used my video/audio setup instead of my DVD setup and when I ripped the Last Samuari which is apparently dual layer DVD, Sage played back the file incorrectly so how do I setup it up so I can import a ripped DVD without having to rip it as one big file and play the .vob |

If this is on your server do this:
Use DVD Shrink. Create a directory called DVD and place it on your C: drive. Now put the DVD in you're going to rip. In DVDShrink-Open disc. It will read it in. Let's just do the whole thing. I usually don't compress so in compression settings choose None. Now click the button Backup. In the dialog choose Hard Disk folder for target. In the second line it should say C:\Title_Of_Movie. Since we are putting it in the C:\DVD folder just type in the so it says: C:\DVD\Title_Of_Movie. Make sure the Create Video_ts and Audio_ts automatically is checked and let 'er rip. After that is done go into Detail setup-General-Library Import Directories. Browse for a directory and browse to C:\DVD and choose that. Now you should be able to go into your Imported Video files and see your DVD listed. I think I also added .ifo to the properties file in seeker/library_import_filename_extensions= This should work. Hope this helps. Gerry

I just ripped Joe Dirt using DVD shrink. I used the mode where I can just select out the movie. It put it here "E:\DVDs\JoeDirt" It created an Audio_TS folder and a Video_TS folder. The .ifo, .bup, and .vob files are in the Video_TS folder. I went to sage and selected E:\DVDs as a library import directory. I also included a folder.jpg image under E:\DVDs\JoeDirt. The image shows fine in the Imported Picture Library, but the DVD does not show in the Imported Video Files. I also added .ifo to the properties file in seeker/library_import_filename_extensions=.
I am at a loss as this has taken up about 2hours of my time to get this to show up..any suggestions? R00ST3R Last edited by r00st3r; 05-27-2004 at 10:33 PM. |

kny,
What program did you use to rip it? I use DVDShrink for all my rips and here's what I get when I rip a whole DVD: VIDEO_TS.BUP VIDEO_TS.IFO VIDEO_TS.VOB VTS_01_0.BUP VTS_01_0.IFO VTS_01_0.VOB VTS_01_1.VOB VTS_02_0.BUP VTS_02_0.IFO VTS_02_1.VOB VTS_02_2.VOB VTS_02_3.VOB VTS_02_4.VOB VTS_02_5.VOB VTS_02_6.VOB VTS_02_7.VOB VTS_03_0.BUP VTS_03_0.IFO VTS_03_1.VOB And a movie only: VIDEO_TS.BUP VIDEO_TS.IFO VTS_01_0.BUP VTS_01_0.IFO VTS_01_1.VOB VTS_01_2.VOB It should just be IFO, BUP, and VOBs, the number or each will vary depending on DVD. DVD Decrypter/Smartripper should be able to rip a whole DVD just fine, just make sure you rip in file mode and make sure to select all files. Personally, I'd just go with DVDShrink, it hasn't given me a bit of trouble, and it's really easy to rip only the movie. |

Ripped DVD support is introduced in the latest version of my STV. It works really nice and supports the folder images.

Seems like we need to make a sticky post that details how to get this to work.
Comes up all the time. |

There are 3 version listed in the instructions web page. Get the 1.3RC version.
New version will always be available via that web page. It will also list the last date modified at the top. I would recommend checking that once and awhile. |
