XMLTV EPG data 24 hours offset ?

Hi everybody

I have now been playing around with Sage TV 2.0 for a couple of days now, and the product really rocks !!

I'm very familiar with XMLTV and how to use it , but when importing data into Sage TV, its somehow with an offset of 24 hours ??

Example, where you can see a snippet of the first 2 progammes in the xml file :

<programme start="20040528013000 +0200" stop="20040528021500 +0200" channel="001.tv.tv2.dk">
<title lang="da">Alias</title>

<programme start="20040528021500 +0200" stop="20040528024000 +0200" channel="001.tv.tv2.dk">
<title lang="da">Roseanne</title>

As you can see, the program "Alias" should air at 01:30 at the 28. of may 2004, being followed by "Rosanne" ... but in my TV Guide in Sage TV, this entry (Alias) first comes up on the 29. of may 2004 at 01:30 ??? (se screendump from Sage TV)

Is there something that i have missed out ? Any settings or ?

Hope that someone can help me figure out what is wrong ...

Regards from Denmark,
Kent Fonager, Copenhagen

Thats very odd, I have never seen that happen in Sage!
As you say the XMLTV data is correct, with the correct time format, so it is not a data problem, so either the plugin is parseing the wrong date, or Sage has a big problem in displaying the date...

Which xmltv plugin are you using (there are several, one of the better ones for European users is in the UK forum)?

Check setup/system info to see when the last EPG update occured, and maybe force an update by going into setup/channels and removing/re-adding a channel.

Also try using the plugin tester to see if there is maybe a problem later in the XMLTV data preventing the import from being sucessful.

Hi Nielm

I was using the plugin from this page (refered to by sage support page) :

http://mta.techno.org/epg/

I've now installed the plugin at the page you refered to and have deleted the wiz.* files and tried to import everything again.

And now it seems like its working as expected. Perfect

I'm now just wondering if its because i started all over again deleting the wiz.* files or because I installed the new plugin ...

But thanks for you reply, now I'll continue using the sage product ;-)

Take care and have a nice weekend,
Kent Fonager

hi kenneth

i had the same problem this morning, then i downloaded the plugin nielm refers to and everything works perfect.

The bat file with the xmltv.exe commands described in step 4 of the xmltv how to thread never worked for me at all. I cant delete old channels, add new or sort. But since I only have DR1 and TV2 I guess it does not matter?

My bat file just downloads the listings. I can get windows to do this every morning, but do I have to do something in Sage or is the sage listing automatically updated also?

Regards

Kimr

Hi Kimr

I think the reason why you cant add og delete channels is, that this is NOT supported in the "tv_grab_dk" part of the system ...

You should do nothing in sage, the lists will be updated every 24 hours ... you can go to the "Setup/System Information" page. Here you can see detailed info on when the last EPG update occured and when the next will take place :-)

Take care,
Kent

As fonager says, Sage will re-read the .xml file every 24 hours, but if you want to force an update, (eg to test a newly created epgdata.xml file) then go to setup/channel setup, and remove and re-add a channel. This will force an EPG update, and you can verify this by going back to Setup/System Information (and also by seeing a CPU usage spike!)

ok, how do you get Sage to display a 24H clock? My PC is set to 24H, but Sage insists on am and pm 12H clock`?
