How to configure a Client to play MKV's?

What settings should i have in the SageTV Client to be able to play 1080p? When I try to play a MKV it stutter, freeze.

Anyone? the laptop i'm using is capable of playing the MKV's with media player and the shark codec pack, but in SageTV Client i cannot play them.

mkv is a container and does not tell us what format the video is in. You would need to choose the appropriate codec in Sage.

Install Haali Media Splitter and ffdShow. Will probably solve your problem no matter what codec is in the file.
