HD-PVR replacement power supply

Hi folks,

After literally months of flawless performance my HD-PVR is suddenly cutting in and out on recordings and live tv. After about 30 minutes of operation is it seems to be losing and reacquiring the signal, at increasing intervals. Nothing at all has changed on the system or cable box.

I am suspecting a faulty power supply. Can someone with some power supply savvy give me a link or advice on a replacement? I'v spent an hour or scouring various sites but can't seem to find anything suitable.

Thanks.

I had one of my power adapters go bad. It tested ok for voltage but didn't power up sequence the HD PVR like it should. I emailed Hauppauge support and they sent me a free replacement within a week!

I had two of mine go bad here recently. I found these on Amazon and they worked fine (in case you can't wait on support).

My Rev. F unit has a 5VDC, 2Amp power transformer. Pretty common. If you're not a EE-type, the voltage must be 5.0VDC but the current rating can be 2Amps or more.

Just get a connector that's the correct diameter and pin size- there are about 3 variations. Or cut and splice!

I think mine's a bit undersized for a 2Amp unit.
It's brand-marked Hauppauge though, which is unusual.
