Does SageTV offer pre sales support?

I would like to know if Closed Captioning would work on my current pvr that is running BTV software and an OTA antenna?

I have a mini firefly remote. Do I need a different remote for Sage?

Do I need additional hardware or software?

My system details are below.

My initial, and uninformed answer, would be no. The reasoning would be that they give out 21 day trial periods. If it were me and I really wanted to know the answer, I would try emailing them and also just try it out on the system with the free trial software.

Can't speak for the CC, since I never use it myself.

However, the hardware should work fine for a OTA antenna.

The Firefly mini will work as well. When I upgraded to Sage from BTV, I used my firefly remote as a backup.

You're looking at it. Ask your questions here and other users will answer as best they can. There are quite a few BTV refugees here (though I'm not one of them) so the chances are good that any issues you encounter will have been dealt with by someone already.

Seems like you've got the basics covered hardware-wise. The standard SageTV Media Center software should cover your software needs, although at some point you'll probably want to experiment with third-party plugins and add-ons (which is a whole nother topic). I suggest you focus on getting the base product working first however.

Technical support is available from SageTV during the trial period -- there are links in my sig lines & on the main forum page, among other places.

As was mentioned above, though, there is info on the main SageTV web site, in the downloadable PDF manual (also installed with SageTV), in FAQs on the forum, and there are many people willing to answer questions here on the forum.

Thank you for your responses. I guess I need to hear from someone who has a Haupauge 2250, is using an OTA antenna and CC. And I have some questions:

Does the CC work OK?
Can the CC be turned on and off easily while veiwing live TV or a recording? Or if it is recorded with the CC on it must be veiwed with the CC on?
Is this the correct forum to ask these questions?
