Network Error / Unable to connect to sagetv
Hello, I installed a SageTV client from a Windows 7 PC to a WHS server and I cannot connect to the client to the server. I'm using Avast Antivirus and the Windows Firewall. I checked the firewall and SageTVClient.exe is allowed. Any thought?

Did you check the server's firewall to make sure the necessary ports are open on that end? Is SageTV on the server configured to allow client connections? Are you running the same software version on both client and server?

(Also not sure why you're posting in the Placeshifter forum if this is a SageTV Client issue.)

I don't use firewall, i have Windows Home Server for the server and Windows 7 for the client, i can connect using the placeshifter but not with the client

temporarily turn off server and client firewall?

Thanks, I've disabeled both firewalls, and uninstalled my anti-virus with no luck, i'm still unable to connect using SageTV Client, but i can connect with Placeshifter.

flushed ARP tables in all switches/routers involved (power cycle), and the server?
