Confused about latest non-beta firmware for HD-300
I just got my first HD 300 to go along with my 5 HD-200s. When I did the check for updates I see the following:
My current firmware is 20101008-0. It says that there is newer firmware available and that new firmware is 20101007-0. Huh? How is 20101007 newer than 20101008? Should I just be using the latest beta anyway? I am running version 7.15 of Sage so is a newer firmware version a requirement - I don't see issues yet? It does look like there are some people reporting that the latest firmware seems a bit slower - is that confirmed by Sage?

I'm guessing that 20101008-0 is a beta firmware version. If you currently have a beta firmware installed, and check for an update without typing "beta" on the remote then it will show the last "release" version of the firmware even if it is an earlier version number.
It's handy to have it work this way because it's a quick way to switch between the beta and release firmwares. |

Ah, that makes sense.

Generally speaking, if you're running a beta version of the software, then you should use beta firmware as well, since there may be updates to extender support that expect or require it.

Running release HD-300 firmware with the betas has caused no problems for me anyway... |
