Sage2 support nVidia Tuner?

Decided to give Sage2 a whirl (current BTV user.)

On startup, it's telling me to select the tuner listed below, but none are listed...

not off to a good start.

I have the MSI nVidia 5200 w/ Tuner

You have to have a hardware based encoder card. Check the SageTV System Requirements page for more info.

MSI NVidia 5200 is not a hardware based tuner. You are out of luck untill you buy one of the supported cards listed on their main website.

there is a supported Nvidia tuner but it is an add-on card not an AIW type card and of course it is a hardware encoder

The 350 should blow away anything SW based.

$250 from Haupp for gee haaa w/ S-Vid out, but it is totally unsupported in the industry, a tiny tidbit of information that's not well documented, unless that is you happen to know the problem exists and do the appropriate searchs.
Could have had a 250 for $100.

Seems to be many of these tiny tidbits of info that are not well known...

SVideo out on 350 is supported in Sage. Though it can be finicky depending on your other hardware. Give it a whirl.

A bit OT:

I just picked up one of the 5200s and its PQ is way superior to my 8500dv using Svid. Sweet card w/tv and dvi for the $$.

Also, anybody run across one of the NVTV tuner cards? If so how does it handle Sage? I think my next encoder is going to be this or an ehome to save a few $$ over the H.

I will give you 55
bidding war or am I just pushing the price up

the card should either or it does not
the only problem other than heat which can be had with older 250s
is the OSD with certain mobo chipsets

maybe you should try it leave the OSD off at first though
and hauppauge will replace it with another 350 if it is bad
or another card if you do not want another 350 since it is the most expensive card they offer in the pvr form

Well here's a Retail-looking version of teh nvtv:
http://www.ivmm.com/innodv/products_dv3300.html

As for saving money, it's hard to beat the price of the Hauppauge Roslyn:
http://store.freytechnologies.com/Me...tegory_Code=HD
And this will likely have better support.

$26 extra to add uneeded (for me) BTV support and Sage recorder seems high... or do you mean to say that the ehome is an inferior card?

I don't know about inferior, but the cheap e-home is known to be problematic, you have to get the more expensive one (with FM Tuner) to be sure it works. And that's about $17 difference.

If the e-home will do what you need, then go for it.

Ohhh.... didn't realize that. I presumed they were the same -- with or w/o FM. Thx for the tip.
