SLOOOWWWW response
SO I just decided to try Diamond for the first time last night. I read through most of the docs and followed the directions. Prior to this I did not have a Batch Meta Data Tool installed so I installed The BMT that uses a lot of the phoeix API's (I didn't have any Phoenix stuff installed either). since I have done all that the UI on my clients are REAL slow (using the 100 series of the HD extenders).
I verywell could have done something wrong, and the slowness might be BMT related but I figured I would start here. By slow I mean it is about 1 minute between each button push and when the UI actually responds. On Sage 7.1.5 BMT 4.9.13 Diamond for Default 3.2 beta could this be metadata related? I had BMT do a scan and because fo some issue with tvdb all my art is a 1k html file (known issue with tvdb). Could the ar problem be causing the UI slowness (trying to render a corrupt file)? |

The HD100 is NOT a good choice for running the Diamond interface. Somwhere in here there is an alternate created that removed some of the graphic elements that slows it down on a HD100. I just run the default interface on the HD100. The HD200 & HD300 I have runs the Diamond interface.

trying to render the 1k html files as jpgs could also be a problem. If you enable debug logging in sage and look through the logs you may see lots of exception stack traces that would point to a cause...
EDIT: i have an hd100 too that i do run the diamond ui on but i turn off all fanart.... so it has some eye candy but not all of it

I turned off all the menu animations. It is a little better, my movie area is off limits now as that will lock up my HD100 if I go in there with all the fanart enabled. I have two TVs each with a HD100 on them. it would cost $300 or so to replace them, so I am likely to replace the GUI before ponying up money that COULD be spent on a new HDHR or that new Hauppauge HD tuner card.
P.S. that 1k image file problem is fixed now... I am inporting all new metadata for my whole library, as well as my recordings. |
