Replacing CAP font with lower case

Hi,
I know I saw this fix in a previous post, but have been unable to find it again. Getting requests to make the Diamond menu fonts (CAPS) more like the stock UI. Could someone point me to the thread or have the instructions to change Diamond fonts to lower case?

Thx in advance.

Thanks for the pointer. This is a follow up. The link above does not appear to be applicable anymore due to the Diamond updates. After looking at this closer, it appears it was much easier to do than I thought. For others who may ask, here is what I did to get the Menu font style looking closer to the default STV.

Go to themes.properties file in the \SageTV\STVs\SageTV7\Themes\Diamond folder structure.

Open theme.properties to edit

Find the line # Main Menu fonts for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd menu levels.

Change...String/gFontNameMainMenu=STVs/SageTV7/Themes/Diamond/TitleCaps
To....String/gFontNameMainMenu=fonts/DejaVuSans

I also increased the font size from 36 15 15 to 41 20 20. This was just personal preference since going to the different font, you lose some size.

Changing the properties in the main theme.properties file will work but it is not recommended. When we update Diamond you will lose all your changes as the installer will overwrite the theme.properties file. By making a sub theme that contains just your customizations that override the defaults it will not get overwritten when we update Diamond and you will just have to pick your custom theme again.

The zip I provided does just that, it contains a folder with a theme.properties file that has all the properties you listed above already in it for you to set how you like size/font wise etc. You are also missing the blank highlight image necessary for the non "Diamond Simplified" themes included with the install package.

On the other hand, it is your system and you can do what you want with it, go nuts!

Thanks for the info. I'll try again. The first time I tried using the original instructions I got font to look correct, but had no dark background image behind the font, just the text. I'll play around with it again. I hadn't thought about the update problem I'll be running into when the next version comes out.

Thx.

Once you unzip the folder go into the theme.properties and change the parent theme to be Diamond Simplified rather than Diamond this will give you the Simplified theme with the old fonts.

Great! Thanks. My bad in not following the instructions correctly. Got it going this time.

Thx again.
