Missing TV Series Banners

I am having problems displaying some of the TV Series banners on my SageTV Clients. When I go to the cache folder for DiamondImages they are not all there. Even if I go into setup and re-cache they do not get generated. This appears to only be client problem. I can actually copy the banners from the servers cache to the client and all will look fine after I restart the SageTV client.

Running SageTV 7.1.5.252 and Diamond 3.20
* I had this problem before the latest release.

Any ideas?

Hey SWKerr,

Every once and awhile I have a banner or poster that just doesn't show. Sometimes for whatever reason the banner/poster images may not get cached (network issue delay, drive spin up??? or something, just guessing ) and they are cached as "blank". You should just be able to hit delete on the series banner and then select to delete the cached fanart and it will recache the next time it's accessed. Try the delete option on the missing banners and then see if they come back. On occassion I have also had to restart the client to get it to show up as well but most of the time just deleting the cache by hitting delete on the banner will do it.

This just happened to me with a recording of "Mr. Sunshine" the poster/banner/bg were not showing so I hit delete and then selected the delete cache option and then came up shortly after they recached.

It could very well be that my system is just trying to tell me something about recording "Mr. Sunshine"

This is really most of the banners and even a delete and re-cashe does not work. delete and reboot will also not work.

When I regenerate them seems mostly the same ones show back up. Mostly a-d and a few closer to z. stuff in the middle tends to be missing. Seems like it has to be something in the re-cache on the client. Maybe it is not waiting long enough.

Not sure what to suggest, Diamond 3.2 had pretty much a rewrite on how it caches to correct problems in 3.1, so if you are still having problems after upgrading I'm leaning towards it being non-Diamond related, just not sure why.

Could you turn on logging on you client and then delete all you cache and recache in Diamond and then shutdown and post your log file. Also note in your post what time you deleted the cache and when you started the recache.

For comparison you might want to try to run the default Sagetv ui with Phoenix fanart for v7 plugin only to see if you have similar issues with the same files.

I'm having the same issue with one of my clients. If I look in Sagetv\cache\DiamondImages\TV on the client with the problem, there are no series_banners or series_posters folders.

I do have these folders on the client that is displaying correctly.

Hey Turak,

Are you running Diamond 3.2 on 7.1.5?

Have you tried to delete and recache fanart from the Detailed Setup/Diamond Fanart setup area?

I hate having to ask obvious questions, but have to rule out things like this before going any further.

Thanks,

Jeremy

First I missed the message on an earlier post about the ability to hover over a Series banner and hit the delete key where you get an option to re-cache for just that Banner. That seems to work. Unfortunately that is still a lot of work for all the ones I have missing on occasion.

I played around with this a little this week. It appears when I go into Setup and re-cache everything it does not even try to rebuild the TV Series Banners. It does not even create a folder for them. I get better results if I do not re-cache and let it build once I restart the Client but it is still incomplete. I can as stated in a earlier post I can copy them from the server which appears to work correctly and all seems good.

What I did notice was that I have once client were the problem does not exist which is a Win7-64 bit machine. The server is also Win7-64. The two clients that have problems with are both Win7-32 bit. Not sure if that is part of the problem.

Could you please post a log with you deleting and recaching the fanart from the main Diamond Fanart section in Detailed Setup. There may be something in the log that will shed some light on why some are not being cached.

Thanks,

Jeremy

I guess I should clarify this by adding that this is what I see after deleting a rebuilding the cache. The series folders do get created eventually as it updates the cache, but some shows never seem to get updated.

I'm running Diamond API 3.20 and SageTV Client 7.1.5. My server is Win7 64bit. The client that is having the issue is also Win7 64bit. My client that is NOT having the issue is Win XP Pro 32bit.

I just did the delete diamond cache for the shows having the problem and restarted. That seems to have cleared it up.
