New house, new SageTV installation, mostly new hardware

New house, new SageTV installation, mostly new hardware, TV, amp, etc. Currently all electronics are in a cabinet behind closed doors; new installation will be about the same – orders from the supreme commander is no equipment will be visible. I use the Hot Link Pro for IR control of those components not in the open, the only one in the open is the TV…

Been considering RF remote but have no experience with them. I can only assume there is a RF receiver also in the closed space which then retransmits the IR signals.

I looked a bit but was wondering what you guys are using when components are behind closed doors?

Jim

I'd go for an HD300 with the optional external IR receiver, for the ultimate in WAF.

I have been using the Hot Link for about 5 years now with mostly harmony remotes. It has been a very good solution for me. Most of the RF solutions use a IR blaster and don't have individual emitters which can cause problems. I hide the receiver for the Hot Link in my center channel speaker. The speaker mesh cuts down on stray IR radiation from my plasma TV which also helps make for a reliable IR signal. Its a great way to go if you want no equipment visible.
