7.1.3 Zap2it Channel Logos

Alright, I'm having a Blonde moment (no offense blondes), where and how are you getting the zap2it logos? I'm all upgraded, is there a setting to turn on somewhere?

They didn't show up for me until the next EPG update (makes sense). I forced an update and the logos showed up immediately.

And, user-provided channel logos override the built-in logos in the default STV. So, if you want to see what the built-in logos look like, try temporarily getting rid of your custom logos in the ChannelLogos subdirectory.

I haven't seen them, so this is just conjecture, but I'd guess that the logos look just like the ones that they have on their (zap2it) www site in the EPG view.

That's exactly it. For my lineup, they look to be pretty high quality logos with the transparent background.

The new logos look nice but missing several. Some of the missing might be expected such as the one from WEHD (I don't even know what that channel is) but some like BBCAHD, CCHDP and FXPHD should, I would think, have logos.

I had the same problem and submitted a bug report. Your sanity check would be for those channels missing logos, go to zap2it.com, search for the same tv listing, and confirm if zap2it even has the logo. If zap2it has it but sage doesn't, perhaps file a bug report as well with the lineup/zipcode you're using.

If a channel is missing a logo, you have no custom logo for that channel, and Zap2it's site does show a logo for the channel on your lineup, then make sure the EPG data for the lineup has been updated in SageTV since installing the beta.

Yep, did both. After installing 7.1.3, I deleted all files in my ChannelLogos folder, then forced an EPG update (via the web interface plugin), which then pulled in the logos for most, but not all, of my channels. Is there another way to look into this and/or debug this?

We don't have logos for all channels, just some of them (but it's almost all of the major ones). But if there's logos on Zap2it's site that aren't showing up in SageTV, please let us know about that, as I'd assume we'd get everything that they have.

That is indeed the case... here was my bug report I submitted yesterday:

After deleting all of my personal channels logos in the SageTV\ChannelLogos folder, in general, the new 7.1.3 beta pulls down the new channel logos (after I force an EPG update).

I did notice the following channel logos do NOT exist for some reason yet they do indeed exist on zap2it's lineup website:

Is there any easy way to assign downloaded logos to OTA sub-channels? For many of them it downloaded a suitable logo for the main channel but displays nothing for the sub-channels.

Yes, you can still use custom channel logos -- a logo you put in the ChannelLogos subdirectory will override the built-in logo.

I talked to Tribune about this and they informed me that we do not receive all of the logos that appear on the Zap2it website. The reason is that a 3rd party runs that site and they have additional logos of their own which they use to supplement the ones from Tribune.

So you don't need to bother posting lists of logos that SageTV doesn't have that Zap2it does...because it's supposed to be that way.
