View webcam stream / image?

I'm about to be a father and have already configured HomeSeer and set up webcams for comming daughter.

Is it possible to view a live feed or still image from a webcam using an SageTV extender or PlaceShifter?

you can use webfeedencoder (WFE) to setup the camera as input, and then send it to the EPG as a Channel....

Yup no prob. I too am about to become a father, and have been looking at all different kinds of baby monitors/integration.

I chose to go the y-cam knight route which supports audio to iphone/ipad/ipod touch, rtsp streams, 3gpp, the list goes on and on.

I am planning on setting this up using WFE so that the little man can be viewed via sage as well. Once i get some free time i am going to try and do a pic in pic plugin which would leverage the wfe by michaeldjcox.

My plan here is to allow the user to start watching tv, and then to allow them to open up a second video/audio stream on a certain portion of the screen. That way you can have the baby monitor always on screen no matter what you are watching or no matter what you are doing within sage.

I have a bunch of other ideas for it too, but i just have to find some time to work on it.

That would be absolutely fantastic!

I've already got the cameras set up, several Ip cameras and "hard wire" cameras using two-three IP9100. All cameras are "collected" in WebcamXP.

I just read this and it sounds awesome. I wonder if you could do this for an exterior security camera.

i dont' see why not...if WFE can see the camera and capture the video and or audio it should work perfectly fine.

If the camera/security camera is closed circuit, then no of course, but if its ip based it should work...

So you can put that project on your calendar for about 18 years from now (if you're lucky).

No, really. Welcome to fatherhood, but say goodbye to "free time". Your only free time will be at night, and your wife probably won't take too kindly to "you feed the baby, I'm going to go fiddle on the computer."

(um, not that I'm, uh, speaking from experience or anything....)

I would help out if I could, but I'm not very comfortable with Java-programming...
