TV recording not updating with Fanart

I have maybe 4 of my tv recording updating with Fan art. The other 100 or so are not updating at all. So far I cannot find a reason why.

any thoughts on where to look?

thanks

Look on the web UI for BMT. You should be able to see all your downloaded fanart for each recording.

I'm looking in BMT-browser-recordings. I see all my recorded tv shows in their respective folders. But only 5 folders out of about 100 have fanart.

Is that where you wanted me to look?

thanks

In bmt, when you click on a media item, you get the metadata/fanart details for that item. You should be able to see the fanart location listed there as well. You'd want to see if you actually have Posters in the fanart location.

ah yes. I checked that and there is a location listed in the details but if I go to the location there is no directory or fanart to match the recording. the only thing in the location is the 5 recordings that do show fanart.

You'll need to check your logs/phoenix-metadata.log file to see if you show is listed there? When you go into the details, are seeing Season and Episode #s there? If not, then they shows are not being updated.

If the shows are not being updated, then it may be that they are failing for some reason? Do you see failed system messages in the bmt web ui about failed to get metadata for a show?

If you go into the web ui, you can create a support request "Help -> Create Support Request" which will create a .zip file that you can email me. it will contain the logs, and I can review them, when I have time to help you figure it out.

I checked the log and it only shows downloading for the dvds and the tv shows which are getting their fanart.

I also checked the details of a few shows that are not getting their fanart and they do contain the episode #'s, season info, even a location for their fanart. But if I check that location, there is no fanart or directory for those shows.

thanks

No season and episode information means that they are not getting metadata (which is important, or else you can't get fanart). But, the phoenix-metadata log will show an entry for every file that is scanned (even if it's skipped later, there will be an entry in there, acknowledging that it got a request). So, if you are not seeing the log entries showing up there, then bmt/phoenix has not been notified about it.

Just to confirm... these are new recordings that happened since you installed bmt? Bmt does not automatically scan "existing" files... but you can force a scan via the bmt web ui. ie, if you are not seeing metadata/fanart for older recordings that were recorded before bmt was installed, then that is normal (and documented as such in the guide).
