Any way to disable Fanart on certain extenders?
I have working on getting BMT/fanart up and running. Now that my dvd's are populated with the fanart, my 2 hd100's are ridiculously slow when moving through the list. I tried caching all the fanart in the list, but it's so unresponsive I though my wife was going to throw the remote at me.
Am I doing something wrong here? ![]() I have bmt 4.0.10, phoenix core services 2.3.18, phoenix fanart for malore menus 1.02, phoenix fanart for sagetv v7 0.1.9 loaded. Not sure if I'm have the setup wrong or what. Still struggling, but if I can't improve on this slowness. I'll have to remove it. I don't want to! thanks for any help

It's important to understand bmt's role here. BMT simply downloads information (metadata and fanart) and then it's job is done.
So, if you want to remove fanart on some extenders, then bmt can't help with that, since bmt has no role there. You'd need to simply uninstall the plugins on those extenders on which you don't want fanart, since it's the plugins, not bmt, that is responsible for rendering fanart. If your experience is slow after bmt downloads fanart, there is nothing that can be done in bmt, and issues need to be addressed in the plugins that are responsible for showing fanart. I have a hd100, hd200, and and hd300... i notice a slowdown the first time i access fanart, but it's not so slow that I can't use the system, and then as the images get cached, the respsonsiveness comes back.

oh that easy enough. Do I need to uninstall BMt on those extenders, or just the fanart plugins?
Also, I guess being slow on thoese extenders is normal? thanks

Typically I don't find the extenders slow... I'm not sure if your experience is normal or not, I just know, that I don't find any of my extenders slow... except when i first render the fanart and they have not been scaled.

Ok, thanks.
But I'm still confused on the scaling. How do I know if I scaling or not? this could be my problem. Now do I need Phoenix fanart for sagetv v7 and phoenix fanart for malore menus loaded? I think is causing alot of my confusion also. thanks

I only use the phoenix fanart plugin, and I know that it does scale. I havent used the other plugin yet, but I suspect that it does scale as well. You'll need to ask those authors about their plugins, since I can only talk about bmt.

But I only see Phoenix fanart for sagetv v7 and phoenix fanart for malore menus.
Are you talking about Phoenix fanart for sagetv v7? thanks
