.srt subtitle questions

I've been figuring out how to generate my own .srt subtitle files lately, and have a couple questions about using them in Sage.

1. They work just fine currently, but when the lower portion of two lines of text hangs below the edge of a widescreen video, that part (in the lower black bar) flickers, irritatingly, till the next subtitle is displayed. I'm not sure what's responsible for it, but I'm using the CoreAVC codec & VMR9 renderer on these videos. Has anybody seen/fixed this problem with their setup?

2. Is it possible to use that lower black bar for the subtitles? I see that Sage allows you to move them to different locations on the screen, but only generally. I'd like to move them entirely off the video into the black at the bottom. Is this possible?

-Thanks
- Matt

From what source? (mpeg TS (DVB-T) or else?

Do you mind sharing how you did it, please?

Thanks.

I had this same problem on my system. I have not had the time to look at it in a while, but when I tested it last night, the problem was gone. I'm using VMR9 and CoreAVC 2.5.5 with Sage 7.0.23. Maybe the problem went away after I upgraded the nvidia display driver to 275.33.
But, after a restart made via updatemanager (service+client) the problem came back. After another restart of the client, the flickering disappeared again. So I'm happy for now.

Hm.. the issue is still there. I seems to be related to Full Screen Exclusive Mode. If FSE is on, I get rid of tearing, but the flickering subtitles are still there. This is also the case when not using CoreAVC
