Hauppauge 2250 acting strangely
A couple of months ago I upgraded my WinXP server with Windows 7 and did a new install of SageTV, and I'm using the same Hauppauge 2250 and HD-PVR I used with the XP server. Lately I've been seeing intermittent strange behavior from my Hauppauge 2250. (I have the 2250 set up with one tuner as analog to capture basic cable and one tuner set up as digital for clear qam.)
The strange behavior is occasionally the analog tuner records a show normally (I think) but when I play the recording, the progress bar moves 4 seconds at a time (4 seconds for every second watched.) If the show is supposed to be an hour long, I can only play the first 15 minutes of it while the progress bar shows 60 minutes. At the end of the 60 minutes on the progress bar, the show playback ends and I don't get to see anything past those first 15 minutes. I"m not sure, but it might only be recording this way when the other half of the 2250 or the HD-PVR is recording at the same time. I have the latest drivers loaded for the 2250 and the HD-PVR and I"m using the most current version of Sagetv and the most current firmware in my HD200's. Has anyone experienced this behavior?

I had the same issue. You need to downgrade to an older 2250 driver.
Go to here: http://code.google.com/p/tmiranda/downloads/list Download and install 22xxdrv_27323. (The name might be slightly different, it should be obvious.) Tom

Many thanks! I'll give that a try this weekend.

OK, I checked the 2250 driver on my old, XP build, and I was indeed using the older driver that you referred to, tmiranda. I loaded the old driver and I'm hoping it'll do the trick. It's difficult to tell for sure because the issue only happened intermittently with the newer driver. This seems to have solved that problem.
I did notice another problem, actually now that I think about it, it was a problem with the XP build that seemed to go away with my Win 7 build. I'm now thinking that the newer driver fixed that problem and it may have been a problem with the older driver we are both using. I restarted my server and tested my three tuners; 1 analog, 1 digital, (both on the 2250), and my HD-PVR, in that order. The analog worked fine. The digital had video but no audio. I changed the channel and the audio started working. The HD-PVR was fine. I now remember that I frequently had no audio on the 2250 immediately after boot up. Changing the channel then activated the audio and it was fine thereafter until the next shut down and re-boot. Have you run into this problem with your 2250?

No, but I do not use Digital on the 2250, only analog.

Thanks for the response. I'm puzzled why I'm having these issues. I'll continue to search and also research the various driver changes by Hauppauge.
