Hamachi

I’ve been trying to set up a simple VPN for my parents and I to share videos of my son. Rather than uploading the videos to youtube or another online site I’ve been trying to use Hamachi to allow them access to my videos folder and then they can access them at will. Less futzing on my part as I continually add new vids.

So here’s my question. I would like to give my parents access to specific folders but not all my homegroup folders. How can I set this up so I can still use Hamachi myself or my personal LAN to access my personal files and these videos etc but keep my parents out of everything other than videos and pics of my son? I still want access to those folders for my personal sessions, but it seems Hamachi is all or nothing. Is there a way to do this with users, workgroups, passwords or something else?

Dropbox?

If your videos aren't too large, try dropbox. You can install it on their
computer and yours and share stuff back and forth. you get 2GB free but each user that signs up via your link will give you another 250MB.

Yes, create a user on your pc for them that matches the login user and password on their home machine. Set the security permissions for the folders to enable access to the specific folders and it should work fine.
