Audio problem when recording with HDPVR

I've recently, within the past month, (about 3 times), encountered an odd problem when recording HD channels with my HDPVR. When I've tried to replay the ts file , either through an extender (HD300) or the Sage server, there is no audio and jerky video play back. Sage detailed info indicates the audio stream to be AAC, but I know the source is Dobly 5.1. Oddly enough, When I examine the ts file with tsMuxer, it shows the audio stream to be Dolby 5.1.

I have an optical SPDIF cable hooked to my HDPVR and 99.9% of the time get good Dolby 5.1 recordings.

Just last night I experienced this problem in "real time" while watching a HD channel. I was able to rectify the problem by stopping and re-starting the recording.

I have Sage 7 running on Windows XP and I'm using the latest drivers with the HDPVR.

I know the extender and Sage can handle AAC audio so I think there is some corruption in the audio stream which wrongly leads Sage to believe it's AAC.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Bump!

It's happening more frequently now. The audio is unplayable and the video plays in what I can only describe as "jerks". I have Time Warner Cable and I suspect it's something funky happening to their signal. Please, any suggestions as I missing some favorite shows!

This almost sounds as if Colossus symptoms have now reached the HD PVR. Strange...
