Movie Metadata / Collection Management in Linux

Hi guys,

So, I'm a fairly recent convert to the Linux version. It's working pretty well for me, but I'm missing the MyMovies type function that allows my video / movie library to be scanned and inserted with cover art and metadata so that titles display with that information in the user interface.

1. Can anyone recommend a solution that will run on linux that will provide this type of scan and insertion with the ability to manually override as necessary?

2. I checked the manual and I'm not clear on what specifically sagetv looks for in terms of metadata... Can someone tell me what file format / folder structure I should use if I were to manually add the necessary metadata?
