What happens if I delete wiz.bin

Let says it gets corrupted by any means, and I decide to delete. Do i lost all the tv recordings even when they aren't deleted? Can I get everything the way it was?

For SageTV 7, they are now writing some the metadata within the video files. The only thing which will not be there will be your favorites, watched, liked, disliked. Can't think of what else.

A better option would be to make regular backups, and restore a good copy from backup.

An even better option would be a plugin that automatically back it every x number of days automatically.

Your backup software probably has this feature built in already. If not, you can use the Scheduled Tasks feature of Windows to set up recurring backups.
