2250 & jerky hd

I've installed a Hauppauge 2250 in my server and it works fine.

If I play back a recording in windows media player, or Arcsoft Total Media, it plays (and looks) great.

When I play it within sage, it's jerky, drops frames, etc.

How do I go about figuring out where the problem is? Why would it play in one and not the other? (Is it a codec issue? I can't find the codecs that WMP and Arcsoft are using)

Thanks,

rwc

Doh! Sorry about that

The server is win7 64bit

The client is win7 64 bit, using the onboard graphics (AMD 4290). The 2250 creates mpeg2 files; the mpeg2 video decoder is Microsoft DTV-DVD, the video renderer is EVR, the Mpeg2 AUdio Decoder Filter is ffdshow audio decoder.

Strangely, I've tried changing the AC3 filter (inside of ffdshow aduio) to 'liba52' and suddenly it started playing much better.

Is that the decoded you'd recommend?

thanks!
