HD300 can't find shows? Sage server can, then it can't.

Got my HD300 set up. I have SageTV 7 server running on the DVR downstairs. HD300 can see the server and connect just fine. I get a home screen and everything just like the DVR. But when I browse to the list of recorded TV shows, none can be found. The DVR can see them all and play them fine.

I went back and checked the import directories and added my NAS drive and the shared media folder that exists on the DVR. Turned the HD300 off and back on, well well there all my recorded TV shows are. WORKS PERFECTLY.

Then I went back downstairs to do something and decided to watch a recorded TV show, none of them could be found. Exact same error message I got earlier on the HD300. It's like one device locks the other out of the directories.

What's the point of the HD300? Am I missing something here? I thought it was for streaming the media off the SageTV server elsewhere on the network. By default shouldn't the server still be able to access the files?

I'm all ears for advice. I'm giving it a week and I will send it back.

What do you mean DVR? Is this your server? I'm assuming you've been using Sage through a client and just recently purchased the HD300. After connecting the HD300 and going through the setup procedures you then did a rescan of all import media folders correct?

I use multiple HD Theatres and they work perfectly. There's something wrong in your setup but you haven't given us enough information to really be of any help.

I think I am having a similar problem. I just set-up my SageTV and HD300 this past weekend. Everything seemed to be working fine, but last night the HD300 couldn't find any of my recorded shows, even though I could see them perfectly fine on the SageTV server (when I logged into the PC).

The problem:

When using the 300 Theatre with the TV, if I expand the TV menu it tells me I don't have any recorded show information but I do have recorded shows and can see them when I use SageTV on the PC (it does tell me to check the "filter settings", but I couldn't find those anywhere). I also can:

- stream live TV through the server to the HD300 theatre (and be able to pause, rewind, the live content)

- see through the HD300 theatre other stored videos (and photos) that are on the PC

So all the connections seem to be fine, and all the components seem to be working correctly, but there seems to be some permission issue. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the UAC on Vista, but I stopped and restarted SageTV in my account on the PC, and still ran into the problem.

Hit the "Option" Button on the supplied remote while in the home menu. This is where the filtering options are located.
