Smile Normalization options for Media Extender?

Hi, I recently got the HD-300 and run it as a sage client, and so far I love it. However, there is one issue that I haven't been able to get around, and that's audio normalization. I don't like having to constantly fiddle with the volume, and there are many shows and movies that seem to go from booming loudness to quiet whispers. A good example is Penn and Teller's Bulls**t which goes from relatively quiet through the whole episode, to ear shattering loud when the end credits roll.

When I used to simply route my sage server through the HDtv and sound system (that is, the tv being a secondary monitor on the pc), I got around this via the use of the awesome ffmpeg decoder set, which had adaptive audio normalization built in. However, that's not really an option for the media extender... So my question is, is there a plugin or some hidden option that will accomplish the same? Or maybe an upcoming feature? If not, I humbly request that this be a feature that's added in the future.

Really, as a drawback, this is very minor... the HD-300 really is stellar all around.

This is not something a plugin or server-side software option can address, because the decoding doesn't happen on the server. In fact, if you use SPDIF output, audio decoding doesn't even happen on the HD300; it happens in your receiver. So that's where normalization would have to occur.

To get it to happen on the server would require transcoding the file before streaming it to the HD300. Sage doesn't do any transcoding for HD extenders that can consume the raw media directly.

I know that. Otherwise my old solution would still work and I'd be able to watch mkv's with 5.1 audio without a problem. The point was whether the extender itself could do it now or in the future...
