Add Fanart Banners to Default Stv

As many of you allready know, I have recently started messing with BMT/Fanart. I ended up only using the metadata coupled with my existing folder.jpgs for my archived content. During my experiments, I did discover that I like the fanart banners. In particular, I would like to have the fanart banners in the default STV recording menu. I have tried Fuzzy's plugin, and the TVeplorer plugin, but their just not for me. I don't like to mix recorded TV with all of my archived content. It confuses the heck out of the family, and then I have to deal with a bunch of complaining. Is there any way I can modify a plugin or the default stv to display the fanart banners on the recordings? My family and I have learned to find what we are looking for by watching for the thumbnail (or banner). I would also be interested in getting the banners to work in the EPG instead of the default preview window.

Try the Diamond Plugin. It doesn't mix TV and archived content (at least not for me) and it uses the banners very nicely for Recorded TV when you have multiple episodes recorded for a show. And many of the other things that it adds are improvements as well, such as using Fanart for Backgrounds in many of the screens. Here is an example of the screen you see when first going into Recorded TV:

Thanks wayner, that exactly what i'm looking for, but i'd rather not have the rest of the plugin (just not for me). Do you think there is any way I could extract just this recordings view from the diamond theme and apply it to the default stv? If I could do this, it would be perfect. I am fairly comfortable working with studio, so if there is any way a novice could accomplish this please let me know.

If you're comfortable working in studio then displaying a banner in place of the title is fairly easy using phoenix_fanart_GetFanartBanner(AiringObject) and feeding that into image widget... You could even get more fancy and do some local caching of the images using CreateImage and GetImage.

Attached is some sample code from TVE for poster image display... I use the same logic for displaying banners (just change the phoenix poster methods to banner methods)...

And an FYI. There is an option in TVE to not display imported content (TVE Options -> Imported TV -> Display Imported TV -> Disabled
