EPG not correct for playoff games

Why is the Sage EPG guide so bad with some things? The AFC and NFC playoff games today are not fully listed. Even this morning the sage EPG says times tenative and teams to be determined. The DirecTv guide however has been correct all week. I have noticed over the years that this happens a lot with the Sage EPG.

The SageTV running on your machine usually only updates its guide data once a day. The Zap2It listings provider seems to wait until the last minute to update the game details for special games like playoff games. So the last time your SageTV updated the guide data, the Zap2It listings weren't updated yet. As of sometime this morning they should be udated...they weren't updated for my local OTA broadcast channels yesterday, but were this morning. I had to force an EPG update a couple of hours ago and now I have correct game details in the EPG. You can force an EPG update using the Jetty Server and SageTV Web UI plugin (there is a Force EPG Update link near the bottom of the main Web UI web page) or you can go to your channel setup in the Configure Video Sources of the SageTV setup menu and toggle one of the channels on your lineup off and back on again.

Even now at 1:39 pm I forced an update and SageTV listing still shows on both games for the teams TBA. But if I go to Zap2It all the teams are listed for both games with full descriptions. I know you get what you pay for and the listings in Sage don't cost us extra but this isn't the first time I saw something like this. This also happened to me on the last episode of The Sing-Off. It was a live episode but in the listings it showed as something like Paid Programming and No Data for the description. And of course it didn't record. (Zap2It had it correct.)


EDIT-And just after I finished posting this I double-checked again and now teams and full descriptions are there. But I can see this being an issue with this happening so late and most people EPG have already updated or may not update until after. It's not like these teams were just announced today.
