Best way to scan
Hello.
I'm setting up my QAM channels. I have two HVR-2250's for a total of 4 digital inputs. Do I have to run 4 channels scans and then finally map the channels? What is the best way to set this up with Sage TV 7? I'm looking for the most efficient way to do this. Thanks |

In SageTV v7, if all those tuners will be used for the same QAM channels, you should be able to perform the channel scan on one tuner & do all the remapping needed, then while setting up the remaining 3 QAM tuners, simply reuse the same existing lineup w/o performing a channel scan.

Seems way easier than the way I was doing it.
I'll try it and post my findings. Thanks |

I ran the first QAM source setup and did the remapping. I copied the same channels to the other 3 QAM sources. Unfortunately, when I record 4 QAM channels, only one signal is detected and recorded. The other 3 channels are recorded, but are blank, due to no signal. Just as I thought, I have to do an individual scan on all 4 QAM sources, in order for all sources to show a signal. If you can think of an easier and faster way to set things up without doing 4 scans, let me know. Thanks Last edited by P5bdkw; 12-31-2010 at 02:49 PM. Reason: correction |

I think that's the problem -- don't copy the lineups, reuse them, as I mentioned above.
On the source setup menu where you choose programming guide data (step 7, p. 162 of the PDF manual), choose to "Use or Copy an Existing Channel Lineup for this Source". Then, select the lineup to be reused, then choose "Use the same channel lineup", not the 'copy' option. - Andy
