How to completly uninstall SageMC from SageTV version 6

Hello,
I am planning on upgrading to SageTV version 7 soon and currently use SageMC. I plan on just installing version 7 right over version 6 but wanted to properly uninstall SageMC first. I may go back to SageMC later but want to remove it first. Can someone let me know how to do this?

Thanks,
Chuck

There's nothing to really uninstall. As long as you select SageMC as your UI, it isn't there. The only other thing to do would be to probably clear out your JARs file before installing v7, to get rid of it unnecessarily loading up any JAR's that were for SageMC use only.

Fuzzy,
Thanks for the info. I thought there would be certain files to delete since it installs lots of files. I'm not sure what you mean by "As long as you select SageMC as your UI, it isn't there". Can you please explain?

As far as the JARs files. Do I delete all of them or just certain ones?

Would it be ok to delete all files and/or folders that are named SageMC or would that possible cause issues?

Thanks,
Chuck

well, I meant NOT select SageMC as the UI file (under Detailed Setup -> Advanced). You should be using SageTV7 as the UI.

As for the JARs, if you aren't keeping any of your v6 plugins (not likely, since you'll be installing everything form the plugin manager), you could just delete everything in the JARs folder. Anything needed by sage will be put there when you install v7, andthing needed by any plugins you install will be installed with the plugins. That said, if you don't ahve an overly complicated tuner setup, you may be better off just starting from scratch, setting everything up, and then copying in your old wiz.bin file to restore your favorites, watch history, and recordings metadata.

Fuzzy,
Again, thanks for the help. I thought that was what you meant but just wanted to be sure. I will probably delete everything in the JARs folder then. I would like to do a clean install but I need to fit this into scheduled shows and I don't think I have enough time in between them to do a clean install. I will go this direction first and hope everything turns out ok.

Thanks,
Chuck
