Recordings reappear after being deleted

Ok, I was thinking I was going crazy for a while. But I wouldn't noticed that I would delete a recording, then like the next day it reappears. Still has the maker that it's been watched also. The dates are also old, so I know they just get rerecorded.

So I tried it again and some other recordings just reappeared.

anyone else seeing this?

You're running Windows 2008 Server. You need to make sure that the service running Sage has the permissions to delete the file. And also make sure something like comskip doesn't have the file open when you trierd to delete it. If the service is using a user ID and password make sure the permissions are correct for local storage and any network storage yo may be using.

Well the user account I'm using is an admin on the system and it's the user account that the sage service uses to run. But how do I check to see if the sage service has permissions to delete the file?

Also, I'm not using comskip and this only happens once in a while. Not to every recording that's deleted.

thanks for the reply

Find the file that won't delete and right-click-Properties-Security tab. Look to see the Group and Users names listed. Then look in the box below and see the permissions for SYSTEM. Go to the Advanced button and you can see and edit everything for permissions and owners.
