Dish recordings to Sage
What is the best way to record/transfer my recorded shows from my Dish DVR (722) to Sage or is there one? I'm starting the process of slowly converting over to a SageTV OTA setup from Dish. I currently have a HDHomeRun (never used to this point), 1 HD200 (use stand-alone), and will be running SageTV v7 soon. All the shows I want to keep are PBS kids, so I can just get them again over time, but like to keep them if possible.
I understand the basics, thanks to lurking in the forum for the past year, of getting the OTA setup with the equipment/software I mentioned above. I'm guessing I would have to run my Dish through the HDHomerun and manually record or something to that effect, which seems fairly tedious. But i figured I might as well ask before I ditch trying. thanks for the help. Last edited by jdc; 11-21-2010 at 08:45 AM.

the only way to do this is with a HD-PVR. You will play the program back over the component output and the Hd-PVR will convert it to h.264.
