EXETunerPlugin broken after upgrade to v.2
Help! Please, the EXETunerPlugin.dll just broke after upgrading to version 2.0 from the 2.x beta.
I've checked my IR transmitter/blaster (the TIRA-2 from home electronics) and it is still able to send a power on/off and mute signal to my stereo, but it no longer can send a channel-change through SageTV. Has this happened to anyone else? I can't change channels at all in Sage anymore. I've checked the registry setting, and it's still properly set inside HKEYlocalmachine/sage/etc... everything was working so well! i guess the enemy of good is perfect. -fodder UPDATE- i reinstalled the exetunerplugin's registry settings, but still can't get it to work. it looks to me like the girder event to change channels is no longer being called. note that girder is still able to control my ir blaster to power my stereo, as mentioned above. did something change in the way that sage sets the registry setting to generate the girder events? Uninstall SageTV. Reboot and then do a new install. Don't forget to backup wiz.bin and your properties file so that you can put them back after the reinstall.
There are other threads about recent problems with ExeTunerPlugin - mostly solved with an uninstall/reinstall of Sage. Andy. |

If you have your group enabled-disabled based on whether Sage is open or not there had been some windows name changes towards the end of the RC betas. You may want to make sure your group is being enbled in Girder. If not, check and see what targets you have set in Girder and make a change. Search the forums. Definitely the client changed from SageClient to SageAppClient.

You're right. I'm at work and was using one of my 2 brain cells to recall it. Probably shouldn't of used the word 'definitely'. Definite was meant as there was definitely a change to look at. Gerry

thanks gplasky & andys-
i'll let you know; i've just today gotten a chance to work on this project after a busy work week. i'm reinstalling sage right now... also, gerry, it wasn't my girder group but that was a good thought. i didn't realize they'd changed some of the target window references since v1.4. i've ordered a usb-uirt anyhow, i'm just kind of sick of relying on the exetunerplugin.dll since it's so hard (for me) to set up (mainly b/c of hard to find documentation). i would like to say this for anyone who needs to use it, though: once you get it configured, it's rock solid and has never broken. (well, *i* was able to break it by upgrading sage) it has worked great with my TIRA-2 IR blaster from home electronics. so if you have to go that route, it's a reliable one, just tough to set up. -fodder |

that did it, andys! thanks!
for anyone else -- the 'properties' file referred to above is called "sage.properties" and it's stored in the same folder as the "wiz.bin" file. just back up and restore these 2 files to preserve all your settings and scheduled recordings, as mentioned above. -fodder |

Would you be so kind to share your .gml with us? I'm an experienced Girder user with myHTPC and BTV experience but newbie to Sage...wanting a shortcut to change channels on a Dish Receiver 301 using Girder + Tira-2. Thanks. |

my GML
rachus-
i'd be glad to share my .GML file for sage. how can i do that besides emailing it to you? i think i recall seeing an 'export' option on girder's file menu; is there a way to make a simple text file of the groups? also, i noticed you are using the tira-2 based on that link you posted describing your system's components. i've got GML files for both the TIRA-2 (which is a great product) and also for the USB-UIRT, which i just recently bought b/c i was hoping to use sage's native support for it. however, the native support of the usbuirt only allows for sending channel change events. i was hoping to send custom IR signals to control my stereo, all from within sage. but, alas, no luck, so i am back where i was with the tira-2, except i'm no longer using the exetunerplugin.dll. however, i only recently made the switch to the new GML file for the usb-uirt, once i got the girder usbuirt plugin working with sage. so, i do have a functional GML file set up for the TIRA-2 and the exetunerplugin.dll that i'm happy to share if you can tell me how to do it. you can tell me your email and i'll send it to you if all else fails. -fodder |

Outstanding and Thanks! You can email them/it to me if you would (I'll PM you my email addy). You could just attach them to an email as is; they have the .gml extension and likely located in your "My documents" or somewhere under C:\Program Files\Girder...or you could add a .txt extension to them -> your choice. I'll also PM you my AIM name so maybe we can chat too.
It's unfortunate the USB-UIRT doesn't do all you need it to, but it may just take a bit of experimenting and girder.nl forum mining...A person by the name of JimHugh has been extraordinarily helpful to me in those forums, in fact he built an Exported Group I see over in the Girder site that may help (you may have seen it and tried it?)... Thanks again! |

rachus- check your email-
i sent 2 girder files that are almost the same, except one is for the usb-uirt IR blaster, and the other is for the TIRA-2 IR blaster. feel free to post them here if you figure out how. i'm glad to answer questions as i've learned girder pretty well. -fodder |

God I feel stupid with this stuff.
Ok, with what tab exactly are you supposed to make the changes to the class name, etc. in Girder? |

ralph- can you be more specific w/ your question? are you talkng about targeting something (i.e. a window or button) from inside girder?
