HD 300 expected CPU usage
Hey everyone,
I'm using an HD300 connected to the latest beta of SageTV 7 and I noticed that my server's CPU usage was sitting at around 30% while watching an HD (FireWire) recording. Is this to be expected? My understanding is that the server does the rendering for the GUI and such (while in extender mode) but I thought that the HD300 did the actual video decoding (which is why expect a much lower CPU usage). Now, when I was using my SageTV client, I found that my server CPU usage would be minimal while watching a show. This makes sense because all of the rendering is being handled by the client but is the extender really that much worse? |

Ok, false alarm.
Using process explored I determined that it was java exception handling that was being thrown over and over again. I narrowed it down to the mobile web interface plugin. I'll follow up with the plugin's author. Thanks! |
