Re-downloading software

I apologize for this newbie post. I bought SageTV online ... it's probably been two years ago, maybe a bit more. (see edit at bottom)

I recently caught a bug which forced me to reformat my HD and reinstall everything. What brings me to this post is that I have been unable to locate the installation program. I emailed Tech Support yesterday. They replied this afternoon and sent my my product registration code.

Apparently, the responder didn't understand my problem. If I had the installation program, I'd have my code in a txt file in the same folder.

So, the question is: How can I re-download the installation program without having to re-pay for it?

If I DO have to repay, I suppose I'll do it, although begrudgingly.

To complicate matters, I'm not positive which version I had.

Thanks, to anyone who can assist me.

EDIT: I downloaded from this page ...
http://www.sage.tv/download.html
But, my computer objects ... won't run it. Says, "SageTVClient_V6_6_25Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

OS = WinXPPro

That error indicates that the downloaded file is damaged in some way. Try the download again.

If you want a specific older version, you can just substitute the version number in the download URL. But if you've forgotten which version you had, you may as well just go for the current version.

Well, you were right apparently. I redownloaded and it seems to have installed correctly. But, it isn't accepting my registration code ... probably because it's a newer version. I'm guessing it won't allow downgrades and will have to be uninstalled. I'll work this out, eventually. Thanks!

If you originally purchased SageTV V6, then any V6 version should accept your license key.

Where are you entering the license key, and what's the exact text of the error message you're getting?

The Sage download page doesn't offer the option of downloading the V6 software now that V7 has been released.

Well, time for an update on my situation.

I finally got it installed. That's when I discovered I needed to install drivers for my video card, WinTV-HVR-1600 in order for SageTV to recognize the card. That's been done and I have a clear, sharp picture now.

But, NO color ... it's in B&W.

I replaced the S-Video cable, thinking that could be the problem. Brand new cable did not help.

Anyone's guess would be appreciated.

Bump

I still haven't resolved the color issue. I'm going to try some electrical contact cleaner.

Has anyone got a clue about the lack of color?

I've had that problem but only when I picked SVideo and the Composite to SVideo converter was bad. My STB only had Composite outputs no SVideo so I tried to use the converter that came with the tuner (nVidia DualTV). I would just try composite in SageTV if you currently have SVideo specified.
