Video flickers when using EVR Rendering

I tried EVR in V7.021. I noticed that at times it worked fine. Other times the screen flickered. It looked like every frame alternated with a white frame. I switched to Overlay and the flicker stopped.
nVidia 9800 GT.

Sympathetic

Yeah, I've heard reports of people getting the EVR renderer to work but I haven't been able to myself. Even upgraded my video card, because I wanted the transparent overlays.

The video still tears when I switch to EVR. Doesn't seem to matter what resolution or frame rate I use. I've played with all the settings for sage and my card frankly for months to get it working.

The video still tears when the camera pans or when there is fast motion.

I know that Boxee, which I use for online media, uses the EVR renderer and it works fine. As does VLC, KMPlayer, Windows Media player, and just about anything else.

I have come to the conclusion that it is Sage's problem. I've tried all sorts of complex solutions suggested by the community, but it still doesn't work. This seems to be something that should work 'out of the box' as it does with every other player.

Some suggestions...

Make sure your monitor and video card refresh rates match each other. Make sure the video card you choose can easily support the native sesolution of your monitor/TV. For instance 1920x1080@60fps. If not, lower the resolution until the frame rate can be maintained say 1366x720@60fps or 1280x720@60fps or even 1920x1080@30fps.

My video card for instance, cannot keep up with my monitor's max resolution of 1920x1200@60fps. I know this because all the other video players start tearing at that point too. Boxee's debug line shows that I'm only getting about 44fps at this resolution, so I dropped down to 1440x900@60fps, and I get my video with no tearing in all of the other players.

Sage still tears.
