just to be clear, these genre themes are for designations of genre done in the collection management system for each movie? i have tried the folders view as I didn't want to go ahead and change that information in each title, but i think the genres view would be better overall...if i don't want a specific genre to show up, do i just make sure that either:
1: there is no movie with that genre (will this not make it show up?)
2. delete the genre .JPG file from the folder.

sorry if this is off topic on this thread...

Go for a genre not to show up no movie must exist with that genre

Wether you want folders or genres depends on your structure.

If you are thinking categories of mymovies those are not fully coded in smm yet.

my movies are already in folders...i can't seem to get it working. i have created the necessary folders.properties file in the movie share directory, but it still shows up as zero folders... where are the images that i can use to represent the different folders such as you do in genres, stored?

As per the wiki you have to make your own custom images with the folder names in the location per the wiki.

I would need to see your folders.properties and logs to tell you why it isn't working.

Okay my genre images.. something wrong.

Will get screenshot as soon as kids get done watching movie, but..

They say "Genre name" below the image, and ON the image.

so it is there twice, once on the bottom of the picture, and once right below that (where it should be according to your screen shots).

any ideas?

Custom options turn off show name since the icons have the name on them

they should be one after the other..

Note that for folders icons and backdrops you must create a "Folders" folder under the customization share.
Then name them the same naming convention as genres for icons and backdrops same name as the folder (the part on the left of the = on the properties)

that's Awesome!!!! thanks so much. Wifey looked at the folders view today and said:
"why sports for my exercise videos???" and I said just because that's all i could get...
until now!!!
But just one quick thing...there is a typo in exercise....the extra "c" in the beginning..not to be a pest...thanks a lot or this...stuff is now complete.

Fixed and updated link to new zip with correct spellings, don't know what I was thinking but I consistantly named everything with an extra c

Cheers,

Jeremy

No backdrop displayed for some genres?

This is odd, my first three genres (Action, Adventure, Comedy) no backdrops are being displayed. However, the new icon for those are being displayed. For all other genres icons and backdrops are available.

Edit: Images for each of the above mentioned backdrops do exist in the same folder with the others.

Not sure what to suggest, I just double checked my HD300 and one of my clients and everything is ok using the same package of images on the server.
