One Stop Shopping - Sage Client, Win 7 64bit, and HD-PVR?

I'm getting the decoding errors trying to play back anything my HD-PVR has done on a 21-trial of Sage Client on a Win 7 64-bit Dell.

Is there a particular soup-to-nuts thread that will get these recordings working under Win 7 64-bit? I can watch ATSC and analog cable recordings just fine.

Thanks for any help.

You need an h.264 decoder to playback the files. Assuming your are running Sage 6 you can either use the native recording patch to enable access to the MS decoder or you can register use the Arcsoft codec that came with TME for the HDPVR.

Here is info on how to register the arcsoft codec if TME is installed but it is not listed as a choice in Sage.

Here is info on the native recording patch

Since you're running the client on W7 you should just choose the Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder in Setup -> Detailed Setup -> Video/Audio -> H.264 Video Decoder Filter.

Thanks to both of you. I actually ended up using a Cyberlink H.264 decoder from a decoder pack of theirs I bought.

I totally spaced on using the Arcsoft one, and I did not seem to have good luck with the Microsoft one. I may give the Arcsoft one a whirl and see if it looks better than the Cyberlink one.

Thank you again to both of you for the suggestions.
