So, basically I can't use HD200 to watch Blu-rays?

I guess all the folks that are using their extender to watch blu-ray rips are connecting the audio output to an audio amplifier, so if I don't have one of those gadgets I just can't use the HD200 for Blu-rays? Is that right?

Nope, incorrect. Since the HD200 is able to downmix all Dobly Digital (AC3, DD+, TrueHD) down to stereo it will be able to handle any disc except those that only have a DTS track(HD200 can't downmix DTS). In my experience that's roughly 90% of them. The other 10%, well those are a bit of a pain. You either need to rip them with ClownBD and convert the DTS track to AC3 or just buy an HD300 which can downmix DTS also.

Well, then something's wrong.

Well, there are several things wrong:

First, when I try to play the original BD rip made from the Optical Disc it just plays the first episode, and never plays the "menu page" where you have the option of choosing which episode to watch, or which sound track to use.

Second, it insists on playing the DTS sound if it exists. I tried re-ripping the BD using BD-Rebuilder, and just for the heck of it excluded the DTS audio track and *only* included AC3 Stereo (which I assume is Dolby). It played just fine.

So there's the problem. It's not actually playing the BD rip *as a disc*. And it apparently only tries to play the first episode of the BD (which is a TV series).

No, and it never will. It's not licensed for full BD menus. That's not what you were orginally asking Honestly with TV series your best bet is to rip to individual episodes.

No you will never get the main menu, but you can switch between episodes by going to Options (I believe). And switching between audio tracks is simple: Press the Audio Button

Thanks. I think I'm beginning to get this. Once I actually play the BD I can switch to another track. They're not named, but they are numbered, and in the correct order. (For some reason it's not starting with track 1 though, but with track 3. Maybe it just starts with the largest track.)

I also learned that the BD backup software I'm using (BD-Rebuilder Beta) doesn't even create a DTS track, but automatically converts it to AC3. So even if the original BD had only DTS I'd still be able to play the backup in SageTV.

One thing that sort of bothers me, is that when I use SageTV on my work computer to play the BD files it plays them too fast (about 4 to 6 times normal speed). This isn't critical, because I don't often use Sage on that computer because it's not connected to a tuner... but I was just curious about what might be going on.

Think I'm finally getting this figured out thanks to your help.
