Question local drives on sagetv client

Hi,

I am using Sagetv 7.019 linux server and a Sagetv client 7.019 on an xp machine. What I would like to do is use the server's drives to store and access TV content, but videos, music, and BD/DVD images on the client's local drives. From what I can tell so far is that I cannot use the client local drives as an import directory. Is this true? Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for your help

You would need to share the client drives out so that the server can map a path to it and then go into the Sage Settings and set them up as Import directories. AFAIK (I'm a Windows server SageTV user.)

Thanks for the reply Gerry. It sounds like a round about way to access media that is on the client's computer. If I wanted to watch a BD iso, I would have to watch it through the network. I imagine that that would gum up the rest of the network (haven't tried that though, so I could be wrong)

Blu-ray is at most 5% of a Gig-E network, DVD at most 1%. And client reads the files directly (if it can get to the path) it's just indexed by the server.
