Two sources ??

Hi,

I have 2off Hauppage sat cards in my PC.

I've added them both as sources......and scanned both sources. But now I seem to have repeated channels in my EPG?

1 BBC Three
1 BBC Three
2 BBC1 NI
2 BBC1 NI
etc........

Am I missing something, what I thought would happen is that SageTV would realize there was the same source from both sources and only list it once in the EPG. If I happened to record any channel then it would pick a random source, but then if I went off to watch another channel whilst the first was being recorded then SageTV would use the other, redundant source.

Also, what I don't seem to understand is the comment on-screen "Select a Channel to Enable/Disable it. Any changes will apply to all Sources using this Lineup".

Yes I'm a SageTV newbie!................but I've spent hours and hours and hours over the whole source/EPG issue re-scanning sources, deleting then trying again. I've been around the block both at home & professionally with hardware/software............but I gotts admit this whole thing is not so funny anymore.

Am I asking SageTV to do something it isn't designed to do?..............Please help!

Ian.

The Channel Setup series of menus is covered in the SageTV PDF manual starting on p. 163 for the v6.6 version of the manual; most info would be the same for v7.

You should perform a channel scan on all digital tuners being configured.

Am I missing something, I just want the 504 channels in the EPG and the chance to watch one channel whilst recording another (hence the 2off cards).
See the comments on pages 47 and 151 regarding how channels are merged in the guide.

"Select" means clicking on a button in the SageTV UI with a mouse or pressing Enter on the keyboard or remote while the button is highlighted. Enabled channels are used by SageTV & shown in the guide; disabled channels are not -- see p. 165 for more details on what it means to select a channel in Channel Setup and the top of p. 163 for the note about tuners using the same lineup.

For some reason, the channels are not recognized as being the same & are added again instead of referencing the same channel objects.

You should provide more details about exactly what card you are using & perhaps someone using them can provide more info about configuring them.
