Imported TV & Parental Rating
I am new to SageTV and BMT, so if I am missing something obvious please forgive. I am having BMT import TV shows and the parental control is not working. It appears to me that SageTV uses the ParentalRating field and BMT is populating the ShowRated. How can I get BMT to set the ParentalRating on imported TV?
Thanks |

After looking into it more I really can't seem to tell which one SageTV is using. Where I thought I had seen a pattern I now have found exceptions. Can you point me in the right direction for how I can edit the Wiz.bin in order to experiment?

I'm not sure if you have metadata tools web ui installed, if it lets you edit the parental ratings or not... but that's the only place that I'm aware of where you can edit the metadata.

OK, it looks like BMT is populating GetShowRated with "TV-14" when having "TV14" in GetParentalRating is what SageTV acts on. I am basing this on what the Metdata Tools WebUI is displaying for the Wiz.bin. The correct text for parental control is displayed in the UI for Parental Control:
TVM TV14 TVPG TVG TVY7 TVY If I edit it manually in the WebUI it seems to work, but this is a one show at a time option as far as I can tell. Can BMT be made to populate this field? Any way to batch edit the existing imports? My wife is going to kill me if one of the kids start watching Dexter when no one is looking. Thanks |

Unfortunately, there is no batch editing in bmt at the moment And there is no way, currently, to have bmt populate the values, other than what is provided by tvdb

Thanks Stuckless for the quick reply. I think I am going to bug Support about changing the behavior when there is no rating on the media.

BTW... I've added an enhancement request to bmt for adding a parental rating mapping system. This would allow you to map TVDB ratings to Sage Ratings. Time is limited, so I wouldn't bank on this any time soon, but at least it's in the queue.
