Attaching log results of HD300 as extender.
Results of playing the same videos off the HD300 as an extender (extender client) are: 1. HDMI output is 720p. Partial screen playback (does not fill screen). Video plays fine with audio. 2. HDMI output at 1080i. Partial screen playback (does not fill screen). Plays grainy as output has been upsampled incorrectly. Should have output HDMI at 720p.Video plays fine with audio. 3. HDMI output at 720p. Partial screen playback (does not fill screen). Video plays fine with audio. 4. HDMI output at 1080p. Partial screen playback (does not fill screen). Video plays fine with audio. 5. HDMI output at 1080p. Partial screen playback (does not fill screen). Video plays fine with audio. |

I'm attaching photos that demonstrate that the OSD is full screen even though the video is not.

I'm attaching photos that demonstrate the exact same TV show playing on the Shuttle PC based SageTV client:
Shuttle SageTV client: this is the Shuttle PC running SageTV client. It has the exact same physical connections (HDMI and network) as the HD300. The HD300 is visible sitting on top of the Shuttle PC. The pictures are: Shuttle OSD - 1: Same Hawaii Five-O playing on Shuttle SageTV client with OSD and video full screen. |

I reset the config (which reformatted) and I installed the latest Beta 2010-10-01.
Same result. The problem still exists. |

Seeing as how you keep posting and you aren't getting much help, have you contacted Sage support?

Yes. I've filed a ticket. The Beta support is looking into it. So far no resolution.

His display aspect ratio is set to 4:3 when in extender mode. That's the problem. It can be seen in the sagetv_0.txt log file he posted a few posts up.

Excellent! Works...
I didnt realize that you have to configure again after connecting.... as the base menus look very similar to the SageTV client menus. Thanks again. |
